Who are the Band Boosters? The Oregon Band Boosters are a vigorously active, non-profitorganization comprised of Oregon Band Parents who have children in grades 5through 12or involved in Marching Band/Color Guard. So, if you have a band, or marching band student,you are automatically a member of the Oregon Band Boosters, Inc. We support the concert bands of the high school, middle school andintermediate school music programs, as well as the summer marching program. General Board meetings are the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM inthe high school band room. While not mandatory,all bandparents, and those interested in learning more about our excellent program, areencouraged to attend. Fundraising is a very important part of the musicprograms success, however, it is only a small part of what we have to offer. There are manyother opportunities for involvement throughout the school year and in thesummer. Every marching band parent is encouraged to participate as much aspossible. We have volunteeropportunities on committees such as cooking, chaperoning, transportation(driving), flag and uniform maintenance, prop construction, activity planning,housing of out-of-town members (yes, we have a number of fine young men andwomen who travel great distances to join our band), travel coordination,help with pot-luck dinners, organizing socials for parents and kids, phoningcommittees, picture taking, article writing, and list goes on…. Involvement in band boosters is fun and rewarding. There isvirtually no other activity at the high school level where parents have anopportunity to play such a critical role in the success of their child. And, notonly will you have fun doing it, your student will genuinely appreciate ANDremember the times that you've shared with them. Forever! So, don't miss out on the FUN! Get involved today! Call aBoard Member or one of the band directors to volunteer. Remember, everything we do is for the good of the program and mostimportantly for the success of OUR CHILDREN! The Organization Anyone who has a child enrolled in 5-12 band is eligible formembership in the Oregon Band Boosters. The Band Boosters is a non-profitorganization dedicated to supporting the needs and goals of the Oregon Band.General membership meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month (exceptJuly and August).
